Illustration Friday: Chair

White Wooden Chair. My entry for this week's Illustration Friday challenge, "Chair".

I just have to place a pair of shoes in my illustration!

Hi Jessica, great job on your fabulous illos!! They look pretty 3D to me and ready to walk out of the picture! :)
I love all those featuring the same pretty girl (is that all you?) and also how you've personalised this solo chair portrait with her (your?) shoes too! :)

this is one of my favorite, this week. and i think the shoes helped to make this illustration.

they make me imagine that the woman who was sitting in that chair has risen, kicked off her shoes, and decided to dance on the rug to some great tune on the radio...

she's in a white summer dress with red traces of roses...

or maybe the this chair is up against a building near the lake, and she's gone to dip her feet in the cool water...

Edric hsu: That pretty lady is a character that I had created and she will feature in most of my illustrations. I made her very perfect, and it is definitely not myself!

teri c: Thanks.

catnapping: You are pretty imaginative. I like what you had imagined. She was sitting on the chair and she kicked off her shoes and...grab a coffee!

mimi-chocolate: Thanks.

Your illos are amazing... The ones I've seen seem to be digital... Have you had bazillions of classes? read gazillions of books? I've been using the trial and error method... what would you recommend?
I love the red behind your chair! and the rug!!

cecelia: My style is clean and feminine. I can't seem to create something that is loud and noisy! Perhaps this is what I should be learning soon. Thanks.

sultry painterwoman: Thanks. I was not from design background, it was because of my strong passion I took up intensive courses on Illustrator and Photoshop. Honestly after completing the courses, I couldn't even manage the pen tool. But I self-practice and continously explore, and I'm now able to use them to create what I had always wanted to create! So, keep on trying and you would be able to master the tools.

This is so beautiful and clean. Do you build the image mostly in illustrator? I'm also a digital artist and am always learning with each illustration I see and create.

the chair has its own personality. Somehow, it looks like you. The shoes are delicious looking, somehow!

Oh my, this is great. I love the couch, and for good reason: I have the same one in my living room.
I love the shoes too, like punctuation in a sentence.

You are very talented!

Oops, I meant to comment on the previous illustration before moving on to this one.

Sorry for that.

I also like the illustration you made for "Chair" this week, the red wall looks great and so do the shoes, again :-)

alina chau: Thanks alina!

aeioubooks: I usually sketch on paper, then build and colour my illustrations in Illustrator, and finally do the shadings in photoshop. Me too, I always analyse people's work as there's always new things to learn!

miragee: Hehe. Don't worry! I believe I will have more shoe illustrations in my future work!

square one: I'm starting to believe that everyone has their own style? I'm glad my illustrations are starting to look like...my style!

loya: Thanks Loya! I will promote hard to get my work published in fashion mags!

stephanie: I bet you like the "Glamour" more than "Chair". Hehe me too, actually! I think the red shoes are catching a lot of attention :) Thanks!

These are really great! I like the way you lightly shade everything from the clothes on the charater to just a single chair. It give a sense of 3-dimention in all your illustrations.

I noticed you like Tadahiro Uesugi. His lighting in his work is just Amazing...he's such a nice person, I got to meet him in San Francisco for a Sketchcrawl event.
You should definitely get together with other artist in Malaysia for the next Sketchrawl. Check out: http://www.sketchcrawl.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=299

Well, keep it up, I plan to visit your blog again ^_^
